2019 Rosé
YAKIMA VALLEY AVA
Very light salmon pink in color, our 2019 Rosé presents many delicate aromas including watermelon, red grapefruit, strawberry and Rainier cherry. Balanced between pure refreshment and serious structure, this vintage begins with fresh fruit flavors before finishing with crisp acidity and significant weight. Cooler harvest weather preserved some appealing cracked black peppercorn characteristics typical to Mourvèdre, adding additional interest on both the nose and palate.
Our Rosé is a traditional blend of Grenache (47%), Mourvèdre (45%) and Cinsault (8%). While Grenache provides plentiful juicy red berries, the salmon-pink hue and wild (sauvage) character remain the hallmarks of the Mourvèdre grape. Incorporating a subtle touch of Cinsault adds a savory watermelon nuance. This is a balanced style of rosé that retains crisp acidity. It is a wine that begs to be chilled and enjoyed al fresco keeping in mind that some folks credit France as the place where the word ‘picnic’ originated!
