The dominance of Malbec (71%) in this blend is apparent, delivering an extremely dark color and assertive blueberry and black currant aromas. Cabernet Sauvignon (29%) provides complimentary blackberry aromas and structure to this impressive wine. Plentiful and vibrant blue/black fruit compote flavors add breadth to the wine, all balanced and persistent through a lengthy finish.

Situated in the heart of Red Mountain lies a block of Quintessence Vineyard planted with two noble varietals, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. We have discovered when Malbec is reinforced with the additional structure and life of Cabernet Sauvignon, it creates a wine with a style all its own.
Production Notes
Cold soaked for 24-36 hours. Cabernet fermented on skin 12-14 days, some Malbec extended macerated for 6 weeks. Lots aged separately for 12 months, blend aged additional 6 months prior to bottling. 60% new French oak.
