Most commonly known as a blending grape, Grenache is often overlooked, despite being one of the most prolific wine grape varietals in the world. In the Columbia Valley, a long growing season and careful attention to limiting yields produces wonderfully balanced and concentrated clusters.
The varietal produces wines exhibiting a deceptively light red color, with flavors and aromas that highlight fresh raspberries and strawberries, with delicate white pepper nuances. This offering features an exceptionally pure expression, further limited and elevated by careful barrel selection.
On the nose, bright fruit aromas are entangled with dried sage and tapenade, with a hint of spiciness reminiscent of Spanish olive oil. This wine is light to medium bodied on the palate, with flavors of raspberry/strawberry juice and wild blackberries. Initially delicate and restrained, subsequent tastes of this wine strengthen the overall fruit presence and greatly extend the finish.
