2015 Red Willow Malbec
YAKIMA VALLEY AVA
Over half of the fruit in this 2015 Red Willow Malbec received extended skin contact, spending three times our usual duration in maceration. The resulting wine is nearly opaque in color, redolent of blueberry, licorice and eucalyptus. Despite its density, this wine moves with agility on the palate, with plenty of energetic acidity and fresh fruit flavors to complement its complex tannic framework.
Jeb Dunnuck for Jeb Dunnuck, June 2017:
The deep, inky colored 2015 Malbec Red Willow Vineyard is a terrific Malbec that’s going to stand up to the Malbec releases from South America. Blueberries, blackberries, leafy herbs, spring flowers and graphite all emerge from this beautifully pure, elegant and seamless Malbec that has present, fine tannin, good freshness and purity, as well as a great finish.
